2-3 year old boys
Now things are starting to get more fun. They discover balls, they walk, they talk, they climb, they run. Basically they don’t stop. I sit here writing having just thrown my 5 days off being 3 year old a little party. Ten 2 and 3 year olds took up residence in my house for 2 hours, the boys went outside, found the ride ons and the toys with wheels, the girls were frankly lost for ideas in a playroom totally geared around boys. One of them kept trying the bouncy horse, kept falling off and kept crying, there we have it, difference explained with no need for any words from me!
Vigilance is important but you have got to let them be themselves. I read somewhere that if you constantly tell your 2 year old to ‘be careful’ you instil in them a sense of anxiety and worry and they will loose some of the misplaced confidence that 2 year olds seem to have in their ability to scale large climbing frames or heavy playground equipment. Obviously there are times when warnings would be prudent, but be careful you don’t wrap them up in cotton wool, they are boys.
